In praise of small games
The Hollow Atlas is maybe five hours long and it's one of my favourite things I've played this year. That runs against everything the mobile market pushes toward — endless content, daily logins, forever games.
A game that knows when to end respects you. It builds an idea, explores it, and steps aside. Garden of Cogs does the same on the puzzle side; PWA_allslots does it as a snack. None of them try to be your whole life.
There's room for the big stuff too, of course. But I wish the app stores made it easier to find the small, complete experiences hiding under a mountain of endless ones.
So this is a gentle nudge: if a beautiful little game crosses your path, don't skip it just because it won't last a hundred hours.
