The Hollow Atlas
★★★★★ 4.5
The Hollow Atlas is quiet and strange in a way I appreciated. You wash up on an island that redraws its own geography, and your job is to fill in a map that refuses to stay filled. There's no combat — the challenge is observation and memory.
Every screen is hand-drawn and it shows. I stopped more than once just to look at a room before solving whatever it was hiding. Puzzles are woven into the environment rather than dropped in as separate minigames, so poking at everything genuinely pays off.
It's a short game, maybe four or five hours, and it ends before it wears out its welcome. If you like atmosphere over challenge, put this on your list.
